Expect to sweat
The room is heated and sweating is an intentional component of Bikram's Yoga that is used to cleanse toxins from your body.
Expect yoga to offer more than fitness
Yoga offers health, wellness, restoration and relaxation.
New students arrive at least 15 minutes before class starts.
This allows us to meet you and give you an orientation. If you arrive later, you will be asked to attend another class.
New Students
Items to bring
An open mind and a positive attitude. Also, please bring a yoga mat, large towel, and a water bottle. You can also rent or buy these items at the studio.
Attire
Wear a leotard, exercise shorts, or a swimsuit (remember, you'll be sweating). Avoid loose fitting clothes, we need to see your knees.
New Students
Come to class on an empty stomach
You should not have food for 1-3 hours before class.
Drink plenty of water everyday
This is better than just drinking water before or after class. With Bikram Yoga, you are simultaneously cleansing all the systems of your body from the inside out. It is important to stay hydrated so your elimination systems (bowel, urinary, and skin) can support your efforts. Drink plenty of water after class.
Come back for your second class soon
Even if you are sore. The first class is the most difficult.
