What if I’m not flexible?
This is one of the most common misconceptions that prevents people from coming to yoga class. Yoga is not about how flexible you are. It is about stretching your body and spine in all directions. All that matters is that you try the right way. Go to your personal edge and you will get the 100% benefit! With practice your flexibility will increase dramatically.
How often should I come?
Come as often as you can. The more you come, the quicker you’ll see results. You’ll find you want to do this practice. It’s fun! It works! You will start organizing your schedule to fit it in. In fact, the harder this yoga is for you initially, the more you need to do it and the more you are going to benefit from it. The time and effort you put into Bikram Yoga will be returned to you tenfold. In Bikram’s words:

Is it a cardiovascular workout and can I lose weight?
Yes. No matter what your level of fitness you will find Bikram’s yoga class challenging. Each posture combines flexibility, strenth and balance to work your whole body frome the bones to the skin. With persistence you can lose inches and develop muscle tone, strenth and stamina.
What are some of the benefits?
There are unlimited benefits to Bikram yoga; it reduces stress, increases blood circulation and improves strength and flexibility. Regular practice (at least three times a week) can reduce the symptoms of many chronic diseases (e.g. arthritis, and thyroid disorders) it’s also excellent for back pain, sports injuries, bad posture and promotes relaxation and correct breathing.

Why the heated room?
The heat allows the muscles, ligaments and joints to stretch without injury and it aids the healing of existing injuries. By exercising in a heated room your body does not lose precious heat to the room around you. The combination of the heat and the poses allows deep changes to take place. It also promotes sweating which flushes toxins from the body. After all, yoga originated in India, where it’s hot!
How long is class?
A Bikram Yoga class is 90 minutes in length.
